Jennifer and Hunter

I'm still living in the Spokane WA area, and have been since the early 80's.  I retired from teaching high school math ('92 - '09) and then substitute-taught for 10 years before COVID allowed me to say to myself "Enough!  You can retire!"   And never looked back!   I love the freedom of being retired!   My younger sister Judy and her husband Michael and I bought a house together in 2007 and we've had a wonderful room-mate partnership ever since (most folks tell me they could NEVER live with their sibling... it's worked out great for us).    I've done a lot of traveling in the past 20 years:  bike-barge tours of Holland, Belgium, France, Italy and down the Danube River.   And I visited Palestine three times, and took my grandson (Hunter, born in 2000) on three bus tours:  Costa Rica, Ecuador and Galapagos, and Ireland, Scotland, Wales and London.   And since I am now retired from teaching, I find myself identifying myself as an activist!  Social justice causes are my passion.  What a great long life it has been!   Looking forward to comparing notes and hearing about what my classmates have been doing for the last sixty years!

Wow, how to cover FIFTY years in a few sentences..!!   As to profession, I was a junior high school math teacher for the first decade after college, and then a high school math teacher since 1989, here in Spokane Washington.   I retired four years ago and have been having a great time since then, traveling and substitute-teaching.   My major hobbies are reading voraciously and riding my bicycle, especially enjoying bike-and-barge tours in Europe.   My daughter Stephanie left this world at age 21, in 2004, which will always be the biggest heartbreak imaginable, but she left behind her four-year-old son Hunter, who lives with his dad here in Spokane, so he's an important focus in my life.

I'm looking forward to catching up with you all;    I attended the 30 year and 40 year reunions and can't really believe we are all almost seventy!!!

I became a math teacher, and taught for 28 years (8 junior high, 20 high school, 6 states).   I retired three years ago and have traveled to Europe on bicycle trips, taken several cruises, and now substitute teach at 6 different high schools in the Spokane area.   I enjoy reading, going to plays and movies, bicycling, and hanging out with my 12 year old grandson.   Looking forward to catching up with you all next summer!
