Hard to believe that we’re the ones carrying the 50 Year banner…how
did that happen?
A quick update for the Moses Family starts in 2012 with the arrival
of first grandchild Mack Moses in February, daughter Kathryn’s
marriage to Kevin in November, and our 40th Anniversary
in December. We try to share Mack with his parents Patrick and
Meredith as often as possible in NY and at beach locations along the
I-95 corridor. Of course Mack is the cutest and smartest kid to his
grandparents and like all “Macs” most popular at the Apple store.
Son, Patrick has transitioned to VP of Current TV Productions for
Original Media…credits – Swamp People (with over 4.0 mil. viewers),
Ink Master, BBQ Pitmasters. Kathryn and Kevin reside closer in VA.
Kathryn finished her law degree and handles commercial litigation
for McGuireWoods in Tyson’s Corner…no new arrivals known to be on
the horizon, yet.
We continue to help keep Obama’s unemployment numbers lower; Joyce
Mary returned to teach for another year in an Alternative High
School, Fairfax Co. Public Schools. My involvement with aviation
passed the 21 year mark with RTCA. Aviation issues in the forefront
in the last year were the 787 lithium battery events, Unmanned
Aircraft flying “everywhere” and safety issues for using tablets,
cell phones and PCs while airborne. There is never a dull moment in
aviation but future planning is now extending beyond my seeing the
results. A bummer when I think of retirement someday.
A re-cap of the pass 50 years includes graduation from Purdue in
1967, USAF pilot training – Big Springs TX; Clark AB, Philippines;
Viet Nam, Kansas City, MO; Scott AFB, IL; Yokato, AB, Japan;
Redlands, CA and Fairfax, VA.
A special “Thanks” to everyone involved in the logistics/planning of
all previous reunions and especially # 50! Looking forward to
seeing you soon…and for anyone still on the fence – Come-on Down!!

I'm involved in
aviation...and have been for the past 40 years. I retired from the
USAF in 1992, where I was a flight inspection pilot performing
missions that included installing and inspecting navigation aids and
Air Traffic Control facilities. Since retirement, I've worked for
RTCA involved in developing performance standards for satellite
navigation, for a new technology called ADS-B and for Portable
Electronic Devices...whether you may safely use your cell phone when
airborne...all pretty technical stuff for an non-engineer. A
committee I direct recently won the Collier Trophy...aviation's most
prestigious award.
In 1972 I married a great girl from Chicago...Joyce Mary is an 8th
grade teacher in the Fairfax Public Schools.
We have two children, both graduates of UVA. Patrick is a producer
in NYC and Kathryn is in Law School. Patrick's credits include -
Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments and the initial season of The
Real Housewives of Orange County...currently working "Project
Extreme" for the DIY Network. Kathryn gave up living in Mission Bay
/ Pacific Beach in San Diego while teaching math at Poway High
School and coaching lacrosse...for Law School...how could she...?!
I continue to try to lower my golf handicap, recently hiked and
camped in the Grand Canyon and for the past two years have enjoyed
the beaches of Aruba...one Happy Island. In August, I'll be
traveling to Australia and to the Lake Taupo area in New Zealand.
I'm looking forward to #45 and the chance to share WL
memories...also will be visiting with my Mom who's back home after a
brief stay at Heritage while recovering from elbow surgery...she'll
be 95 in October.
Hope to see you soon...
