In the summer of 1983 I called Mr. Casson (is that the right name for the VP?). I asked him if he knew anything about a 20th reunion. I was pretty sure he recognized me, but he knew nothing about a reunion. By that time I had no other contact in our class.
My wife of 19 years and I live in New Zealand in the middle of a 1 hectare organic orchard. That keeps me very busy. We sell to organic retail stores on the North and South islands. You can look us up on google at 1739 State Highway 30 RD2, Whakatane 3192, New Zealand. We moved here in 2016.
After WLHS graduation, I graduated from Oregon State with a degree in Philosophy, and experience making cheese and yogurt. I then attended Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary for 3 years. No degree, no ordination, but no draft either. When I got a VERY high number in that first draft lottery, I moved to Switzerland and made cheese for a year before traveling around central and eastern Europe in a VW campervan for another year. I went to the 1972 Olympics in Munich. After a year of German from Herr Tully my senior year, I studied and practised to the point that I was very comfortable conversing in german.
I lived in Phoenix AZ for a couple years before going to law school at the University of Washington. As an attorney, I worked for Legal Aid (free representation for folks in poverty in non-criminal cases) for 36 years, bouncing around Washington and Oregon, the last 31 years in Coos Bay, OR.
Martha, my wife, is a clinical psychologist working here in New Zealand.
